Can't stress how sorry I am to end this blog.For last few months I had no time for blogging. Then I realized that I can not blog the way I did. I planned to post this earlier, but somehow, I was hoping that it won't happen. But it did. I don't know, maybe some other time, and definitely another blog will come. I am not same as was when started this blog and I don't live any longer the way I did. Looking forward to new blog. Maybe even sooner than I hope. Thank you all for following me and for all lovely comments.

It is cloudy and rainy around here for days. This is from last Sunday short trip.

We keep forgetting our camera, so I tried to capture some Autumn colours and sky with phone one.... Well, our fish stew (one we love most in Slankamen, Laguna restaurant) was perfect. And I will visit some brighter skies than above placed HERE. Enjoy!

Pie for dinner and pie for dessert

This is our favorite pie- we prepare it half with cheese and half with cherries. Today we filled one with meet & onion and love it.
I learned this from Petar's mother, and then, he learned from me. After a while, he became the only one who prepare it.

He is 11 months old today.

And it looks like to me that we came home from hospital few days ago?!

But, I will go back to my full time job next month, and will hang with him just an hour and half, maybe two, when I come back home. This makes me so sad.

Caravaggio a mystery of the two pictures St. Francis in Meditation

On the occasion of 400 years since the death of Caravaggio, from today till 27th of October is opened the exhibition at the Palace of Italy in Belgrade, called "Caravaggio - a mystery of the two pictures St. Francis in Meditation"
I plan to visit this exhibition, and maybe to take few shots? Or to solve the mystery? Hm....this weekend? :)

I enjoy this two little friends and their play. Goldie gets "more food" and toys for chewing since Matija arrived and Matija has awesome friend.

The only thing Goldie needs to learn is to share HIS toys with Matija. Vice versa is already working.

Sadly but true, this society must learn a lot. Please check out the Angry Policeman yelling at hooligan: So You came to destroy my Belgrade?!
This policeman action is what we all should do and I hope we will every time in future when hooligans organize them to break and burn our city!
Total damage in the city is more than 1 million EUR, but we actually failed as humans.....It seems to me that I am one of few around here who thinks this way.....And, "all we need is love" is forgotten.... some twenty years ago.....You know, "this City lights used to be seen far"....and who is proud now?

My younger brother moved to Holland with his fiance few weeks ago...I must confess, I am truly happy that they left this....Powder Keg
Living elsewhere is something that most of us think these days around here(OK, I do think about it all the time).
Well, I do hope to visit them some time next year, and maybe, at least if not living then, drinking coffee elsewhere.....there.....and there:)

Well he is 10.5 months today, but.... I have and incredible habit to post his monthly photos late, and in half month from the day of his birth. Actually, I am constantly working and in one of five busiest periods for my occupation, so....excuses, excuses, but he is adorable, isn't he?

We finally did it. After finding perfect measure for bread known around as "Somun", we agreed that it is time to try some cheese. I did the cell phone shots, Petar did the rest:

Then, some lemon juice goes into cooked milk( I forgot...5 or 6)

Also, it is first time we tried to cook this. Can't say i love it, but this " cottage" cheese is base for some other...like....mozzarella that we hope to make. Soon.

Ordinary day?

It started as any other day, but it turned to be a hard one.
I made a solid plan:
1. My mom will come to take Matija with her for whole day
2. I will finish some bookings
3. clean our flat
4. Prepare lunch, and maybe even Gianduia cake
5. Laundry&Ironing
6. Whatever I can to finish before they come back
But...
1. I had to go with Matija to my mom place as some cousin called to say that will come into visit (I am lucky that mom lives 2 streets from me)so mom had to wait her.
2. Stroller wheel broke in front of building where she lives.
3. Matija got sick after 5 minutes spent there- I tried to have a cup of coffie but I had go back home with him.
4. Goldie got mad as two dogs from our park are...I don't know this word in English, you know, in their period for babies....So he can not eat, sleep or do anything normal but to stand on his back legs and look trough window or to sit in front of me and try to make me to go out with him. Ah, yes, this breed follow you everywhere around house and now even more(or just our dog?)

When we arrived home....
1. Matija got better so I
2. cooked for him (my mom already had everything prepared at hers but I forgot to take it with me) and
3. played with Goldie (crazy in love) and Matija for the rest of day

We have now total chaos at home, one sad and mad dog, fortunately healthy baby with growing teeth problem and absolutely tired me.

Origami stars

I don't know what do I do wrong, but these stars shouldn't have this white parts visible.

I don't have books, just what I find occasionally via Internet, and with minimum of time for my favorite hobby, this makes me sad.

Now, I remember that I saw somewhere( no time to check) last year that this is 8 point star (or some kind of ).

But, when I make 10 point star, "white" is not there.Hmmm.....Maybe it should be 10 parts in this star? Or, more likely, I shouldn't do it in dark room while watching TV (shame on me).

Finally, this is my 150 post, and it deserves to be about Origami. Even not good one ;)

Our holiday

I don't know if I mentioned before, we have a house in Old Slankamen. Small village near Belgrade on Danube river. It is an old house with no garden (yet) but full of all kind of weeds (not the one that makes people laugh). As we managed to settle ownership last year, we started to renovate it, room by room.
I must mark that we didn't have any intention to fix it this year, but, when we saw how bad our bedroom was.... we decided to do it.

This is one before-after combination, but two different rooms. Situation was almost the same in both rooms, so...

We spent about Eur 120 for paint and floor, Petar did all work by himself.

GARDEN?

We have some tomato in backyard (this yard is still like from some horror movie, no shots this year)....

but....Matija love to eat tomatoes

And, after hard work, we enjoyed the view on our favorite(and only) bench (in some sort of village center)

We didn't reach this year goal for house repairs; roof is still to be fixed, and we never did anything like this, couldn't find someone to hire....but, it is not the end of the year, and we have few more days to spend on holiday....Money is the rough part, but we hope to manage this.
I dream to have lovely garden, you know, one from those Magazines....grass, few trees, some roses, proper lighting....place for grill and huge table and cozy furniture for lazy nights with dear ones....
Ok, not this or even next year, but in two years from now? I do hope.

Gianduja I was looking for

and found in Sale&Pepe, april 2010

200 g Gianduja chocolate,
150 g butter,
170 g of powder sugar ,
120 grams of chopped almonds,
50 g gustin-a ( I don't know this word in English, it is like flour but is for making mixture more densely),
3 eggs,
cocoa powder
Bake almonds in the oven to 200 C and crumble 2 / 3.
Mix soften butter with 150 g powder sugar, add eggs, one by one, Gustin and crumbled almonds and stir.
Chocolate, finely shred and melt on steam. Add and carefully mix.
Put mixture into a mold diameter 18 cm.
Sprinkle the rest of chopped almonds on the surface and bake about 30 minutes at 140 C
When completely cool sprinkle powder sugar.

I think that 400 gr of Nutella is simply too much for our stomachs.

I tired to take a shot of Matija with his first shoes on. Almost 10 months old, he looks older. He is quite big boy, much taller and bigger than his peers. In this jeans and shoes he looks like 2 years old child. Looks funny when I breastfeed him...

As we were home alone (beside Goldie) it was almost impossible for me to make shot I wanted to. Matija was impatient to go out. Well, it ended with this shot:

Nigella's Gianduja

As I am huge chocolate and hazelnuts fan, this one is a must in a next few days:

Torta Alla Gianduja

6 large eggs, separated
pinch of salt
125g soft unsalted butter
400g Nutella (1 large jar, yes you’ve read it right its 400g)
1 tbsp Frangelico-hazelnut liqueur
100g ground hazelnut
100g dark couverture chocolate, melted

Preheat oven to 180 C.
Whisk egg whites and salt until stiff but not dry.
Meanwhile, beat butter and Nutella together in another bowl. Add in Frangelico, egg yolk and ground hazelnuts.
Fold in cooled, melted chocolate and then lighten the mixture with a dollop of egg white.
Gently fold in egg whites a third at a time. Pour into prepared tin and cook for 30-40 minutes depending on size of mould or until the cake is beginning to come away at the sides.
Cool on rack
Serve with ganache and toasted peeled hazelnut.

A thousand splendid suns and Osama

I read this book a year ago. I cried from very first till the last page of this book. I "ran" on this one again few minutes ago while browsing most popular books on Internet page of my book supplier. It is still on top 10 list. And, of course, I was overwhelmed with same feelings of sadness and horror as I was then. I don't know how many people know anything about Afghanistan and their suffering. This reminded me on something I still think about sometimes....
More than 5 years ago I saw movie "Osama". This movie was forbidden in America, and, after watching I do understand why.
Movie " Osama" is extremely hard to watch. And....uh, I am still under impression even now, this very moment. There is no music in this movie, as, there is no music in lives of this people. And yes, I cried from the first scene till the last one, and whole night after watching it. I truly didn't even imagined that this CAN happen. But it can.

This is first time I compare book and movie. Books always win in my life except this time. "Osama" is so strong and real, without any false hope, because, for this people there, hope is (if there is any) very fragile. I love to believe that there is hope. And love...like in the book. Whoever choose to watch it, be prepared to be changed forever. This movie MOVES.....essence of being. It break our soles in thousands of pieces. And when we put ourselves back, we cannot be same ever again. Maybe, if I read book first, I would say this for the book. But I can't. It is very,very strong book but movie is more impressive. For some reason, the end of this book is....pale when comparing with Osama movie. But then, those thousand splendid suns have hope.....

Cardinal cake

I know there is many variation of this cake, we tried this one last night and was awesome!
As our camera is somewhere in our home office, I took shot with mobile phone camera.

6 egg whites
350 gr sugar
½ teaspoon vinegar
Bake at 170 ° C for about 30min

½ l heavy cream
2 cream fix
Mix cream until hardened and add cream fix into the mixture.

This cake was made by Petar's mother, eaten by all of us, coffee is a must with this. Bon appétit! Bonn appetite!?....or something like that in French? Whatever, just prepare it and enjoy!

chicken wings with honey
1 kg chicken wings
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp mustard
1 tablespoons apple vinegar
2 pieces of garlic
Chicken wings - salt and pepper, make the marinade ingredients and pour wings. Leave it in marinade minimum of 5 hours and bake in the oven. We added potatoes ... awesome!

Time is something that I don't have these days. It is a privilege! Our son occupies my time most of the day. And I am not sorry for this at all. Actually, I am sorry that I work part time from home. Seems like stealing it form "our" time. And look at this little one!

He is already almost two months old.

And has such gorgeous smile. Just like his dad. And blue eyes, like his mom. Honestly!

It is second day of Orthodox Christmas today. We celebrate it by "old" Calendar. Well, as I wrote last year, I like to celebrate both of them. We decorated our Christmas tree on "Catholic" Christmas....and then....
On Christmas day, 25.12.2009 my Grandmother passed away. We are very sad and also sorry that she didn't have chance to see our son and her first grand grandson. She was so excited about him and planing to visit us. It is comforting that we gave her his photo just few days after his birth. She proudly showed it to everyone she knew. I am glad that she was so happy, as Matija is first baby in our family after long time. And I know she rest in peace now, happy and contented....

We all get enormous spam in our mailboxes with message-mail it on xy addresses if you wish to.... don't we? Following one was from one dear friend, and I read it. It was so gorgeous that I had to mail on few addresses....and to post it. I have no idea is it true that it is written in Talmud, maybe it is....and then, if it is not, should be written everywhere- on walls, classrooms, notebooks, commercials even in our homes. I am thinking of putting it in frame. You know, like Keep calm and carry on.

Be very careful not to make woman cry because God counts her tears. Women is formed from male rib, not from his feet to tread on it.

To kiss or not to kiss!?...KISS

I know that my life is not ordinary one, and people and friends that I love are totally not ordinary too. Even my colleagues at work are close to me and we care for each other a lot. And are out of ordinary also.
I work in an international company for almost 10 years. Some of my colleagues work even longer than I and we consider each other something like another family.
Yesterday was such silly and beautiful day for me. I went to my office with two cakes to treat them and was surprised with such warm welcome.
As I can not get vaccine for this new flue, I am keeping "low profile" at home, without close touch with other people.
This means - NO kissing and receiving congratulations for at least two more months.
One of my dearest colleague insisted to kiss me. As I explained my "flue" problem, he said, "No problem, but I must kiss you". We all laughed. He did kiss me. In stomach! Twice!
Now, before getting any wrong conclusion for this, I must note that they were all worried about me for not getting pregnant for a long time, and, when I got pregnant, they were thrilled, and worried will it be OK.
I was touched with this gesture. I do know that I usually make other people happy, but this is something so gentle, warm and spontaneously. True happiness was in his and in eyes of all of them!
I am blessed one.

Smile is still on my face. And will be every time I think on the day I went to office to treat for our child's birth.

Matija-a gift from God

This our little son Matija (Mattheus). He was born on 18.11.2009. I had quite difficult labor, but, thanks to Doctors, we are both fine. We are still recovering from it and are better and stronger every day.

I will post more photos as soon as he recovers. He is full of bruises all over his head, so not quite photogenic:)

Few weeks ago I took this shots, looks like sky in July but is October one. This fall is extraordinary warm and sunny. I love it!

Both shots were taken on the bus station across the shopping mall Usce in part of Belgrade known as New Belgrade.
I don't like the "look" of this mall, but clouds and sky were beautiful.

33 weeks

I am trying not to post about my pregnancy too often as I am occupied with it anyway, and this little blog of mine supposed to be about some other things.... But, it is hard not to. Specially as I was told today that I am most beautiful pregnant women they saw. Hmm, I doubt that, but it felt soooo good to hear this.

So, 6 or 7 weeks more to go... and my first post about pregnancy supposed to be at the week no 6, but we decided to be quiet about it until 2nd trimester. I am lucky that I don't feel too tired or too swollen or too...whatever. Somehow I am still totally cool with my pregnancy and my only worry is that due date is not quite right one. And we still didn't choose the name. But, I bought some lovely clothes for our baby (not blue) and I am sure it will be perfect for this little boy.

what I did today

I didn't want to stay at home, nobody wanted to join me for a walk so i decided to go by myself somewhere.
I went to shopping mall as i need some lamps and baby clothes. I didn't buy anything but...

it was great cheese cake and I enjoyed it so much.

On the way back, this scene was so funny so I took a shot just before entering the bus. Camels are adoring, just I have impression that it is not likely to "meet" any in Dubai. or maybe it is? Ah, who cares, it's so good to travel...even in the yellow city bus.....

I love fall, and this one is so lovely, sunny and perfectly warm.

30 weeks

So, 9 or 10 more to go. Not much left. I am still full time working and tired so much that it is hard to me post, or check other people posts. I will soon take rest of my vacation days and after that, maternity leave. I am lucky to have 1 year leave, but, as I am an accountant, I have to work from my home part time. I must say I am little scared how will this all be when baby arrives(we didn't choose even name yet), but I am actually looking forward to spend more time with my family. Hope to post soon(origami mobile is not yet assembled).

This is our Goldie having stomach problems. Ah, as we live in Belgrade, where most people throw garbage in park(insane, I know), he makes this kind of face every few days. He ate something during evening walk with me, so, next day was like this.

Summer time

Well, we just came back from short holiday. I coughed bad cold before that, and had to stay in bed for more than a week. It was absolutely terrible to be sick on tropical heat, pregnant, and with no medicine at all. But, last few days were more than interesting. As we have family weekend house in Slankamen( that we are redecorating at this moment), and as I cannot travel far away, I spent a week with my parents, Goldie and little fellow Luka(known from some previous posts) there.
Goldie was the star (of course) and enjoyed most.

I was sorry that Petar had to stay in Belgrade because of his work, but, that's life( to be honest I missed him all the time).I hope we will be able to spend one week in September there with Goldie.
So, we had few lovely walks,

Just to add that amniocenteses results are ok (as I believed it will be), and, we will get on Friday official paper for this.
And on Friday we will know the gender of our baby, as I was too excited and forgot to ask via phone. Hm, now, I am not sure about that. Should we wait and see? Maybe will resist the temptation to read full report? I seriously doubt.

Well, I had a lot of trouble to upload this pic. I got new mobile phone that I still don't know to use...and Petar changed lenses on camera (yes, I am still afraid to do it myself) so had to take a shot with phone camera. I couldn't find mascarpone in shop so I added extra heavy cream. It is excellent taste, but mascarpone is....well, necessary. I found this way made cake little "heavy" for my stomach, but I ate 2 pieces(small ones). It is easy to make, easy to be eaten.....will make it again as soon as.... I get mascarpone.

Free to travel

After almost 20 years we will be again free to travel around EU without long hours waiting for visas. Do you remember that we were one of the most favorite people all around the World? I do. We were first who were invited to some kind of open status into EU in 1990. That was 19 years ago, I was full of plans for myself and looking forward to bright future. Just a year or two later we were in war. My last trip without visa was in 1992 to Munich. Country where I was born doesn't exist anymore. I am sad for that, but I am now enormously happy. For all young people from my re sized country that never ever visited any other country and will be able to. I am happy for myself too. You know, more-less this time, next year, I will not be a millioner, but will travel to my favorite town that I regularly visit via Merisi's blog. I will just pack our bag, docs, put my baby and dog into car, kiss my husband Petar and sit with them in our car and travel. Freely. Without zillion of permissions, confirmations, stamps and docs that takes so much time to get. Life is good, and future is little brighter. We all need just few things to be happy, don't we?

21 and apple pie

I am today 21 week pregnant. Last week was "milestone" as I saw on babycenter, but I had no time for taking shots or posting and, this still can be counted as halfway as they named it.
So, here I am, today in my office.Not sharp shot, but the belly is obvious.

You can see Sale&Pepe Magazine on my desk. I am super busy these days, but my colleague insisted me to check out one apple pie recipe. So, I will prepare this today. To delicious not to:)

How do you grill?

My brother's girlfriend always have birthday party as an picnic. As we all LOVE grill, then, it is always a "grill" one. She and Petar are grill experts in our family, and rest of us are more than happy to eat whatever they prepare.

1. Good Grill can not be done without coal.

I heard that people abroad grill on gas. Please don't grill this way. Meat has to be "smoked" at least a little:)
2. But before that, we keep all meat for few hours in olive oil, sea salt and rosemary. This is a essential for perfect taste

3. It can't be grilled on strong heat, but the "middle" one. And it has to mellow, not overdo as it will dry. We use pork, chicken, beef and sausages. Petar became an expert for ciabatta and focaccia-we grill ciabatta too but on the marble that we put on grill.

This time, Jelena was chief and Petar just checked our meal once, after that he took shots.

I enjoyed eating. As all other. What a lovely may day.

OK, quarterly Vat statements are finally done, all upsetting checking at doctors too, as well as amniocentesis! I am finally calm and stopped worrying about my pregnancy-everything is great. And.....I am so ready to fold something!
But first of all I must visit one lovely, lovely lady's blog to thank her for all she wrote in my previous post comments and for her wishes to me. She is so inspiring and her blog is one of the best! Merisi, you are pure gold!

I was astonished to see when was my last post. I missed even First Anniversary of this little blog:(
There is an reason for this all, so I can and must forgive myself for being out of blog world for so long.
And the reason for being absent? Well, I am pregnant, with all known symptoms that come with it. Morning sickness lasted all day and night, leaving me no time for anything but waiting to pass. And headaches too. But, I am truly happy. Maybe quite useless for anything else but happy.

It is needless to say how thrilled we both are although we didn't believe at first. You know, 4 long years of trying, and, as in million other cases, we gave up. Next month we were looking at the test result absolutely sure that it is some mistake. Luckily it was correct one, and, in November, we will welcome our first child.
As my Doctor insists, I must stay in bed most of the day for at least one more month, this part is making me just little sad. I love nature and walks, but this will have to wait a while.

I always assumed that will post at least weekly, specially on Skywatch Friday as it is something that "makes my day". Now it is changed, but not for long I hope. I do not intend to write about my pregnancy stages here all the time, but this is something that occupies me these days, so I will do that occasionally.

I plan to post some shots from one lovely May picnic soon. And to check my friends blogs too!

I have one new client from Sweden who is absolutely fascinated with Belgrade, Serbia and our people. He decided to leave Sweden and start new life here. We are all quite surprised with his decision, but are happy to have him around. He learns our language, develops his business and expands his friendships around. He loves our clubs and live music that you can enjoy every night during week in many cool clubs and bars in Belgrade.
So, I asked him few days ago about his favorite place.
He said something like Tango Bar.
That was a surprise for me, as he likes rock music, so I replied"Oh, you learn to dance tango?"
Then he was surprised-" No, no....the name is Dango Bar."(well it sounded like that)
As my face was something like what the hell is dangobar, his Serbian partner than told me-" It is Danguba."
Than we laughed all together. Danguba means Time waster, actually.... literally means Day waster but Time waster is better translation....and, Serbian language is quite hard to learn.
Nevertheless Danguba is one of the coolest clubs in Belgrade. If you find yourself somehow in Belgrade, waste some time there.

It is time to clean the house and the blog too. Last few weeks were so hard that I had no time to blog. As I can see all of you have these little gadgets for following blogs, so I must join it, as at least looks nicer than my old link list. Maybe I even manage to persuade Petar to help me with making new look for this little blog of mine. Hm....maybe. Otherwise, it will be white till I learn how to do it by myself. That would be nice....to learn and do it by myself:)

Spring is late this year, it is quite cold around here, and I am bit tired and slower than usual. Above photo is from last may, I won game;) I want to remind myself that it will be worm and sunny soon and will go for long walk or picnic or to play game... And this comes from one that LOVE winter!?.....how about You?

It was the feast of Candlemas and Serbian Statehood Day yesterday. So, as it was on Sunday, our Government "gave" us today as holiday. And, it is first sunny day after many grey ones. Goldie and I enjoyed this morning walk fully.

Origami day

First rose. Then, after few attempts came iris:

I found my husband extremely talented for origami. And myself for not picking right sheet for placing pics for shooting. Check this paper crane. Looks like is landing.

These are first cranes he made. From quite bad quality paper.

Kusudamas are not assembled, I just put them together to see how will look like. Hm, not talented for arranging too.

I had no other dark material to use but this old shining table sheet. With some soft light and white plates looked good few years ago :-)

So, Petar is now hooked on origami too. We have few Venus kusudamas in progress(me), and dozens of cranes and iris(he) for decorations. There are some beads for decoration purpose too but still in the draw. I have no other plans than to give them to some nice people as valentine gifts. Petar plans to fold some more iris flowers and make a bouquet.......for me ;)

** Folding in our house is deeply connected with stress level. This, of course, means that we were(are) stressed and now are happy with tones of paper cranes, iris and kusudama flowers. Perfect, right?

This little boy definitely is. He is sitting on the garbage can, on the bus station, eating his hamburger. We have a lot of children living on the streets. Most of them are Gypsies. And, we have one shelter for them in Serbia, here in Belgrade. Sometimes, there is no heating and electricity in there. I read on some blog that this happened because this shelter is next to some government office that turns of heating and electricity on weekend and holidays. Did I mention that shelter must pay for heating and electricity? Why?

The secret of Ice Age is in Old Slankamen!?

Yes it is, and I know this place very well. My family owns a house there, some 100 m from that hill and we go in Old Slankamen quite often. Many of my lovely childhood memories are from there (including daydreaming of climbing that hill-never did it:( and sitting on it and watching Pannonian Sea-gone thousands of years ago).

Believe me, I knew that this hill is important, but so much....had no clue. Old Slankamen lies on the slopes of Fruska Gora and is unique for that hill but for many other treasures too.

Romans had their forth there.
Celts lived there too.
Old Slankamen has oldest orthodox church in that part of Serbia.

Battle of Slankamen took place there.

Famous vineyards.
Mineral spring that heals.
Fishing terrains.

And, there is legend that Attila's grave is in Danube, just where Tisa river enjoys Danube- someone told me when I was child but I don't remember who.

Best fish soup and fish paprikas in Serbia is in Zlatna Laguna (Golden Lagoon) that happens to be there too.

Ok, last information is not connected with previous historical and legends, but is also important.

So, ready to discover the Secret of Ice Age?

It is planned to be built till 2015, but I recommend to visit it even before. Slankamen is as rest of Serbia, undeveloped but lovely. Don't expect good roads, tourist information and literature on every corner. And even so, you can spend great time here with truly friendly people, spend day on the river, go fishing, take great photos, eat cheap but great meals,....and discover secret of the ice age ;)

Skywatch Friday- gray reflection and a little sunshine

Lack of free time (bring memories of recent swf) means too much work, short breaks, not going out, no fun and no posting.
OK, I admit that I didn't have any new interesting photo to share (beside above complains) so I missed last week sky watch. And, as weather was bad, didn't want to go out with my Nikon to take shots of many variations of gray with rain...everything was grayish.

Few shots I took this week while going to work aren't astonishing, but are all as entitled and quite interesting for me.

So, phone camera shots this time. Again.

1. Yellow buses on the bus stop under the gray sky. That made me watching buses yesterday, and, I must say that are the sunniest things these days around?!

2. Croatian Embassy reflection on Canadian Embassy under the gray sky ( there was one lovely yellow truck, but I failed to shot it from the bus).

3. The sunny one, from more than week ago. No yellow buses on this shot (I was in one when took it).Sunlit Serbian Assembly under the blue sky.

4. Finally sunny day and blue sky today.

I hope to have nice weather this weekend. I am so keen to finally take decant shots of Belgrade rivers Sava and Danube and sky above.

Guitar Art Festival 2009

Vicente Amigo Group , Sting & Edin Karamazov and Ennio Morricone& Roma Sinfonietta are this year major Guitar Art Festival 2009 guests. I saw bildboard few days ago for Ennio Morricone's concert at Belgrade Arena. I can't say I am excited...actualy I am. And, I wish I can go to Vicente Amigo and Ennio Morricone concert. Who knows, maybe I earn some extra cash and manage to buy tickets for both? If not, then, sorry Amigo, Morricone is an old love.....since Once Upon a Time in America ....some 24 years ago?

It was quite rainy vacation but we didn't mind. Boka Kotorska is fantastic to visit and unique part of World. My husband's family had small house there long time ago and we used to spend our student holidays ( don't hate us) for at least month and half each year there. My favorite town is Kotor, but everything in Boka Kotorska is pure treasure.

So, this skywatch post is rainy one, with clouds, rain, sea...hm, not bad one ;)

Regrets and resolutions

As I am in quite poor mood (happens few times a year) I decided to write something about regrets and resolutions. Actually I hate all magazines, TV shows and articles that exploit this theme every December. Somehow they used to make me believe I have to make my list every year and to stick to it. Nonsense. It looks that we all get hooked for that and make some resolutions and promises. So since few years ago I stooped doing that. Why? Hm, let me think. I realised that all of my lists had same goals as initial one. To prosper in all areas I am interested in. Few changes were made during the years, and that is fine. And why am I writing now about that? Well, I've founded something about regrets on Internet that made me think about it for a while. These two words somehow are same for me when are together.

And why would I make resolution f.i. to spend more time with my family? This is stupid for me to do that. Any normal person will do best to be as much as possible with family.

Here is one resolution I strive to mark as DONE, and also, I can say is regret as well for not reaching it...yet:

Reaching absolute cultural level, and taking rest afterwards on it, is the entity of human.

This is old Chinese wisdom I found when I was 16 years old in the book I got as birthday gift form one very dear friend. This is Book of Change by John Blofeld, Serbian translation by David Albahari our famous novelist. Therefor, I am not sure if I translated it properly in English. First few years I thought of this book as some convenient help for what I wish- will it happen , what to do etc. Silly girl I was. No need to throw coins. Just open book anywhere and read. And think about what writes there. It is pure treasure. Jewel of wisdom.

I got in some cheep weekly journal Kigaku Lucky Days Calendar for 2009. Extremely bad design, must say:(
I put on the wall of our home office as there are many circles filled with yellow with some dark blue stripes...and red is around it. Sounds better than it looks. I found this not so bad for making pause when working. It is quite ugly, so I continue working very soon. But, I found silly site for this. The most amusing is disclaimer! Some other crazy believes are there.

Following shots are not mine but from different news. I know that we all follow and protest against this.

I am too upset with bombing innocent children and people in Gaza and Israel and can not ignore it here (I would love that I can, but I can't).

It is unimportant for people (who are bombed) who is wrong and who is right. They are not guilty for any of this.

Being powerless to help, to stop this , to comfort and to try to live normal every day life while bombing, is extremely hard. I experienced that all. And believe me, while we were bombed(nato,1999), sky was so blue, days were so sunny, everything blossomed and scented strongest than ever, at least to me. I never wrote or said anything about my experience during that time before. I feel it is proper time and place to share it. Hardest is to find some explanation to little children what is going on. Even now, almost 10 years later, traumas are here. We are champions in Cancer illness and Heart Diseases. Many of our children die young or are born with anomalies. And, we live in Europe. We are neighbours to Western Europeans, some 500 km away. And Gaza or Israel is not so far away. Or anyone that happen to be in war.

There is no excuse for violence of any kind. Never.

Dark skies are above us.

Happy New Year....again

It is New Year tomorrow according to Julian Calendar that our Orthodox Church still use. Our people here call it Serbian New Year and use(d ) to (be) celebrate(d ) even more than regular one.

We also used to party on 13.01. with friends, but now.....I prefer quiet evening at home. This is, of course, impossible as fireworks and firecrackers will last at least till 01.00 am.
I just hope that Goldie won't be scared this year (we had an incident for Christmas Eve with firecrackers thrown to our balcony and he was quite scared).
I wish to have same situation as last year. I was waken up by noise of firecrackers and run into living room to check our dog. He overslept all. On his back .
Actually, I wish we all oversleep it. On our backs. I am getting old :)

This Festival is so cool and I am so sorry that I can not go there.

I am in the middle of busiest period for my occupation, so I must miss many of events I love.

I love Emir Kusturica movies, but I must write here something that unsettles me regarding how people from around world see us by watching his movies.
Many people who never visited Serbia believe that what is in his movies is how we live and what we are in Serbia. Well, it is not true. Kusturica is an artist and his movies are his art. What you see and feel while watching his movies is beautiful, but is not real reflection of people who live here.
